On this day we check out and head back towards Tirunelveli, enroute covering some beautiful ancient and natural marvels as well, our first stop for the day is at this Ancient temple which is one of the Nava Kailasam temples - The Papanasam Shivan temple. This beautiful temple located right on the banks of the Tamirabharani river is an extremely important and sacred temple for all devotees of Lord shiva. The temple which is also known as one of the Nava Kailasam temples is attributed to the Sun god and is supposed to be extremely powerful for anyone seeking any medical remedies.

Saint Agastya along with his wife Lopamudra obtained divine Darshan of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati here as a married couple, the Shiva lingam here is said to be completely made of Rudrakshas and a Darshan of this lingam is believed by the devotees to be the cure of all diseases in this world. Though not the cleanest if you wish to you can take a dip at the Tamirabarani river right opposite to this temple. Flowing in the name of Papanasam, a dip here is believed to rid you of all your sins as the same suggests (PS: only if you regret your sins!!)

Following this we headed to a place where for the first time Instagram Vs reality did not disappoint me, The Manimuthar dam which is also somewhere on the way to the Manjolai estate, after pretty strict checking and confiscating of plastic and food items from our cars we headed up there to have this place all to our selves!! I mean why do people not know about these places? or do they just go to temples and rush off!! anyway I am not complaining!!

After this, post some heartening meals for lunch we reached our hotel in Tirunelveli which was our home for that night, keep reading this space for more!!
